- Lakes Regional Park Playground

Great playground and splash park.
- Lakes Regional Park

We popped in to Lakes Park in Ft. Myers, Florida on our way to the airport last week. I'd love to come back with my kids next time we're in the area. Between the playground, train ride, splash pad, paddle boats, walking and biking paths, and concession stand, I could see spending an entire morning or afternoon there.
- Market Street Diner

Kids eat free on Tuesday! All local food and the best bakery around.
- What's Brew n

One of two coffee shops in Sun Prairie, head up the steps to the leather couches and kid area (books, toys,
and coloring crayons). Story times are Tuesday mornings at 9:30.
- Gaylord Discovery Center

We love this indoor play center in the quaint town of Gaylord, MI. A way to break up our road trip, the
Discovery Center has a giant sand box, maze, age-appropriate toys, water exploration, crafts, and musical instruments.
(CHEAP finds in the thrift store next door - lots of snacks for the road.)
- Catfish Hotel

Just down the road from Shiloh National Park and on the banks of the Tennessee River. A multi-generational
dining experience. Sit by the fire, come after church, or sit on the deck. The best coleslaw for miles around and try the
farm-raised catfish (when in Rome)!
- Morning Star Cafe

The best breakfast in Grand Haven. Fresh-squeezed orange juice and appropriately portioned kids menu!
- Parkway Bakery & Tavern

One of the oldest po'boy shops in New Orleans. In New Orleans, family friendly doesn't necessarily mean
bathrooms with changing tables, special kid's menus, or even plastic "collector's" cups. Throw some crayons in
your
purse or backpack and consider splitting a regular-sized meal between the kids and less-hungry adults. Read

On nice-weather days, enjoy your slice of pizza outside to the Italian Garden. Reserve ahead for the Palermo's Pizza Tour (the only pizza tour in Milwaukee!).
- Miss Katie's Diner

Miss Katie's has bar seating, shuffle board, and a pull-handle cigarette dispenser. They serve greasy (and not so greasy) food on no-frills flat wear. People don't come to Miss Katie's for the fine china--they want eggs, black coffee, and a couple square feet of counter to read the newspaper. We didn't have kid's menus at Miss Katie's, but do you really need a special sheet to order a jumbo cinnamon roll? Read more at Road Trips for Families: http://bit.ly/9ajw4A

- Texas Roadhouse

Watching the kids eat peanuts from a bucket at our table and then discard the shells in the aisle was a blast.Kids and Ranger meals start at $2.99 and the boys gobbled their mini-steak bites down without even looking for ketchup. - Naples Tomato

Items from the kid's menu include choices like fettuccini bolognese, cheese ravioli, Aunt Doris' mac n cheese, and even a veggie plate. A smaller portion of the award-winning lasagna was the hit of the table--with 20 layers of fresh-ingredients; this dish alone would make you plan an entire vacation around a meal. - Parrot Key Caribbean Grill & Bar

Choices from the kid's meal are the usual stand by, with the exception of fish and chips and crabby patties (a smaller-portion crab cake than an adult-size meal). When the top-level deck bar is closed, kids are welcome to do a little exploring on their own (don't worry, you can see them from the restaurant!).
